FOCUS THIS WEEK: Cherries!

At home, one of my favorite things to do is make quick Chaats out of bits and pieces of food. The one thing you will need is good Chaat Masala ~ a spice that ties everything together! I have a more detailed breakdown of how to make a Chaat in my book Masala. And yes, you can pick up a copy or a tin at Pondicheri! We also ship nationwide. Chaat masala is mostly composed of amchur, dried pomegranate, cumin, chili and black salt. A hard to match flavor...Here are some ways to use it!

·     Toasted peanuts with minced onion, ginger, a generous sprinkle of Chaat masala and plenty of lime juice! This is my go-to midnight snack.

·     Sliced mango and avocado topped with Chaat masala. Breakfast?

·     Cucumber slices with Chaat masala and a touch of lime juice ~ lovely snack!

·     Make popcorn and sprinkle with Chaat masala…movie time!

·     Oven roasted potatoes topped with Chaat masala. Yes, the Desi fries at Pondi are dusted with that same Chaat masala. Guilty pleasure…

·     Sliced apples topped with Chaat masala ~ a great healthy snack!

You get the idea…enjoy a summer filled with Chaat masala…Click here to order…
