Simple Baked Oysters

Oysters are delicious saltwater mollusks vital to the ecosystem, filtering pollutants out of the water and providing a habitat for other species, including mussels or barnacles. A great source of omega-3 fatty acids, oysters also help boost our immune system, regulate inflammation and keep our hearts and brains in check. After trying a dozen different ways to bake oysters, I concluded that they are at their brightest sprinkled with just a few key spices to enhance their naturally briny flavor, topped off with ghee and lightly baked. Try using the local plump and succulent Gulf Coast oysters, in full season now.
